Εκπαίδευση Φυσικοθεραπευτών

Στο πλαίσιο της επιμόρφωσης των επαγγελματιών υγείας, το MDA Ελλάς σε συνεργασία με την Ομάδα Γονέων DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), διοργάνωσε μια εβδομάδα αφιερωμένη σε ένα πρωτεύων ζήτημα για τα παιδιά – Μέλη του Σωματείου με Μυϊκή Δυστροφία Duchenne, τη Φυσικοθεραπεία.  Επικεφαλής του όλου εγχειρήματος ήταν η κυρία Marion Main, Leading Consultant Physiotherapist του Νοσοκομείου Great Ormond Street του Λονδίνου, της οποίας η 28ης εμπειρία σε παιδιά με Μυϊκή Δυστροφία Duchenne, είναι ανεκτίμητη.

Με την παρουσία της και την πολύτιμη συνδρομή της πραγματοποιήθηκε, η εκπαίδευση Φυσικοθεραπευτών και άλλων επαγγελματιών, όπως Εργοθεραπευτές και Υδροθεραπευτές. Η κλινική αξιολόγηση Μελών του Σωματείου, καθώς και η εκπαίδευση των γονέων τους. Συνολικά πάνω από 25 επαγγελματίες επιμορφώθηκαν και πάνω από 30 οικογένειες εκπαιδεύτηκαν σε φυσικοθεραπευτικές ασκήσεις στοχευμένες στην συγκεκριμένη πάθηση.

Οι εκπαιδεύσεις και οι κλινικές αξιολογήσεις πραγματοποιήθηκαν στην Μονάδα Νευρομυΐκών Παθήσεων στο Νοσοκομείο Παίδων «Η Αγία Σοφία» και στο «Σπίτι» του MDA Ελλάς.
Υποστηρικτής της δράσης ήταν η AEGEAN AIRLINES.
