The three-year course of the MAMEM Project (http://www.mamem.eu) was completed with great success.
People with motor disabilities have shown that with the “journeys” of the “mind” and the “eyes”, so much can be achieved. They became more active in disseminating information and messages through social networks and improved communication with their family and friends.
The purpose of the program was the integration of people with mobility problems into society, providing them with the basic ability to operate computers, with their eyes and thoughts as “guides”.
The comments of the Project Manager on behalf of the European Commission were very positive, stating that “We are very pleased with the completion of the project and we are impressed by the way the system works, which exceeds the current technology levels. We hope that it will soon reach the market as a product “.
We would like to thank Dr. Spyros Nikolopoulos of the National Center for Research and Technological Development CERTH who supervised and coordinated the research teams from 7 different parts of the world. We would also like to thank the University of Koblenz, Eindhoven, Thessaloniki, the research center of the SHEBA Hospital of Israel, the SMI and EB Neuro SpA technology companies of Italy, the team of MDA Hellas Members who participated in the program as well as Ms. Agni Marikaki. and Mr. Dimitris Athanassiou for their precious help.
There are no limits in thinking and this ambitious and excellent project has proved that there is nothing impossible for anyone who tries his best!
