For the second consecutive year, the ‘Finish Liners’ team ran the Athens Classic Marathon (42 km). More specifically, 60 runners accompanied three members of MDA Hellas (who are wheelchair users) in the Classic Marathon route – and together, for another year, they became the messengers of ‘It doesn’t matter how you’re running but the reason why!’
Apart from the group’s participation, this year’s action also had a greater purpose…
This year, the ‘Finish Liners’ ran in order to raise the total amount of € 7000 – an amount that will help Christina cope with the cost of her escorts until her graduation.
Christina is a member of the MDA Hellas family, and her condition is called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type II. She is 23 years old and has been in Rethymno for many years, studying psychology at the University of Crete.
The necessary amount of money for Christina was raised thanks to the significant sponsorship of PwC Greece and its employees, who participated in both the team and the fundraising – as well as Myshoe.gr, our 60 friend–runners who supported this initiative, the ‘Finish Liners’ and the support of the world.
