Under the auspices of the 4th World Duchenne Awareness Day (WDAD) on 7 September 2017, MDA Hellas and the Parents–Children with muscular dystrophy group (Parent Project MDA Hellas) organized an event at Technopolis in the Municipality of Athens. Its goal was to inform and raise awareness of this rare and incurable form of muscular dystrophy which affects boys.
This year’s event focussed on the importance of early diagnosis, and at 7.00 pm 500 red balloons representing the 500 boys and men living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in Greece were released into the sky. The event was attended by the host of Survivor 2017, Sakis Tanimanides, while the music was performed by Vicky Bee and the Acoustic Troubles!
